alikua akitumia madawa za kulevwa sasa amewacha (He used hard drugs but now he stopped.)

alikua akitumia madawa za kulevwa sasa ameaacha (He used hard drugs but has stopped now)

My Life With My Friend

Life for my friend and I was very hard, we spent our nights on the streets.

One day, we decided we needed to look into better ways of survival so that we could improve our livelihood. We agreed to venture into activities such as collecting empty plastic cans, bottles and waste papers for sale.

Initially, we used to take drugs such as cigarettes, bhang (marijuana) and glue. We realized that the money we made could assist us in looking for a house and make life better. Unfortunately, other boys decided to invade our home and we opted to take them back home to their parents and advised them accordingly.

We ate food from garbage and hence we couldn’t escape diseases. They were part of us and were also brought about by sleeping out in the cold.

Our lives have since changed after coming together and we try to advise others not to venture into that life since nobody is destined to live on the streets.

I understand that it must be very hard to have no place to stay and no food to eat. It is quite impressive that you and your friend have come to realize what you are able to do for yourself. Even if you make a little bit, all the little bits will add up and get you something great. Always stay strong!

That you have the will and determination to help yourself is your greatest asset.More important is the fact that you encourage others to also help themselves and advise them to combat drugs etc.Unity is strength..continue to build on the work you are doing.
My friend Charles from Korogocho built a circle of friends just as you are doing, and now this september they will take 100 youths and act as mentors for them..
Another..Douglas built a school from tin..and now 90 children are taught and eat daily as the whole community
    came together..
Your home truths are of special value because they show the need for people to share and care, and it is time for
foolish police and authority to recognise the wonderful efforts you are making.
    Best wishes my friend

Hello, just dropping by to add further encouragement to you and your friends who have decided to try and make a better life for yourselves and by so doing encourage others to do the same. One by one you will bring others into your circle and so strengthen each other.

    Wishing you peace.

    Jean, from Australia.
