Elimu Ni Muhimu

Elimu ni kitu muhimu sana kwa sababu kama ujasoma uwezi ajiliwa kazi  mahali kwa kukosa elimu. Ukitembea kwa mtaa utapata vijana wegi ambao hawakupata elim na weigine hawakumaliza shule, pia wazazi weigine huwa wapeleki watoto wao shule pia kama ujamaliza shule  kupewa kitambulisho itakuwa ngumu.

Kuna watu huwanatumia watoto wa wenyewe vibaya kuwafanyisha kazi ngumu kama kubeba takataka na kuwambia watafute vitu kama chuma plastic, nisababu moja inatuma watoto watoroke manyubani.

Pia shida moja inatuma vijana wengi wakatae shule kwa sababu ya kutumia madawa ya kulevya nakujiusisha na wizi. Nigependa kusema kama selikari inaweza kumaliza hizi madawa yakulevwa na kupatia vijana mradi wakuwasaidia kwa sababu wengine wanaugana pamoja lakini hawana kitu ya kufanya wanaaza wizi.

Sababu ya kuadika hi juu yashule nikwasababu wezagu wali faliki mwaka 2006 tulikua waalifu wambaya sana tulikua tukinyaganya watu na kuwanyonga, lakini vile wezetu waliuliwa na polisi kwa kupigwa risasi ndipo tukawacha wizi na sasa tumebadilika tunaweza kufanya kazi ya mikono yetu.
Nigependa kusema kabla serikali isaidie vijana pia nyinyi wazazi munaweza kusaidia vijana wenyu kuwa epusha nashida.

Education is very important

Education is very important because if you are not educated you cannot be employed anywhere. If you walk on the streets you will find many youths who are not educated and others did not complete their education. Some parents do not take their children to school. If you have not completed your education it becomes hard for you to apply for an identity.
 There are those people who mistreat others children bad by giving them hard task like carrying garbage and telling them to recycle plastics. This is one reason that makes to run away from their homes.
One thing that makes many youths to drop out of school is drug abuse and stealing. I would like to say that the government should try  to campaign in order to reduce drug abuse and train youths in skills because many of them do not have something to do and this makes them to steal. 

The reason which made me to write this is because we were bad guys we used to steal, mugging and snatching others people purse but when our friends were shot dead by the police we changed and we stopped stealing and know we can to our work we our own hands.
I would like to that be the government can help the youths their parents should first try to help them so that this problems can reduce.

Sheria Za Watoto

Siku moja nilikua nikitembea mtaani mimi na marafiki zangu, kama tuko kwa njia. Tukaaza kutawanyika niliuliza rafiki yangu.

Yule tulikua tumebaki nayeye, nilimuliza kwa nini wale weigine wako wapi? akanijibu wameenda kununua gam yakuvuta niliwafuata nikathibitisha nikweli vile alivyo niambia.

Ni kweli nilipo wapata niliwapati mawaitha. Wengine walibadilika.Nikitaka kuelezea kuhusu watu wale wanatumia wengine kuwauzia madawa za kulevwa.

Pia kuna watu weigine ambao wanatumia watoto wa wenyewe kutafuta pesa nao kama huyu mtu mmoja ambaye ni na mjua mtaani kwetu hawa watoto, ambao wana kaa mtaani Wanakaa hapo hawapewi chakula, wakiletewa nguo za kuvaa ana wambia hakuna vitu vimeletwa akiona wewe unafuatilia maneno anakufukuza.

Nigependa wasimamizi wa watoto wakaweza kumchukulia huyu mtu hatua kali.

Children’s Rights

One day I was walking on the street with my friends. Along the way, we began going our separate ways. I asked my friend, the one I was left with, “where are they?” He answered that they had gone to buy glue to sniff. I followed them to make sure what he told me was true.

It was true. When I found them, I gave them advice. Some of them changed after hearing my advice. I want to tell those people who use the others to sell drugs.

There are other people who use children to search for money. There is one person I know in our area who uses children in our area to buy drugs. The children stay there and they are not given food. If they are meant to be provided with clothes, the person tells the children that none had been brought. If he sees you not following his orders, he sends you away.

I would like to tell those who stand up for children’s rights to take action against this person.

Watoto Kuongezeka Kwa Mtaa

Ukitembea kwa mtaa utapata watoto wale wametoroka nyumbani hasa kuko na watu wanatumia watoto kwa njia mingi kama kurokota chuma na kuwamwagia takataka. wanawadaganya na mahali pakulala lakini chakula wanajitafutia wenyewe. kuna matajiri wengi wanatumia wegine vimbaya nikielezea kuhusu hawa watoto kutoka niwajue niko na miaka mbili nikielezea kuhusu hawa watoto kuko na matajili wanawapatia watoto kazi ngumu kama kuwambebesha takataka pia wanawabebeza mizigo mizito ukiangalia zile pesa wanazolipwa haziwezi kuwasaidia kwa sababu wanatumia hiyo pesa kununua madawa kama gumu, sigara vitu zigine nyingi. Nikielezea kuhusu tajiri huyo amechukua watoto ana wadhulumu nigeomba selikali ikaweze kuchukua hatua kali kwa watu ambao wana nyanyasa weigine.

The Increasing Numbers of Street Children

When you walk around the streets, you see the children who have run away from their homes. There are people who use them in many ways, for example, they use them to collect scrap metal and garbage. They deceive them by saying that they will give them shelter and food. There are the rich who use them very badly also. Since I have known these children for two years, the rich give them hard work, for example, carrying garbage, heavy luggage. If you look at the money which they are being paid, the money cannot help them because they use the money to buy drugs like glue, cigarettes and many other things. If I can talk about the rich man, he has taken children and used them in bad ways. I am pleading to the government to take serious action against those people who are using the children in bad ways and also treating them badly.

Umasikini Kwa Wingi

Umasikini ulitoka kuwa watu weigine kujinyakulia viwaja mingi.

Weigine hawana mama wala baba wakutegemea. Inabidi waende kwa mtaa kuomba viakula. Ukitembea asa vijiji bali bali hutapata watu hawajiwezi vilema inabidi waede toun kuomba pesa za kununua chakula na zalipa nyumba. Ukipata vijana wegi kwa mtaa watakupatia shida bali bali kama wazazi kufaliki madawa za kulevwa kuwalibu na kukosa kazi.

Umasikini unatuma wasichana wegi wanajiushisha na usharati kwa sababu wanaona tabia za wazazi wao. Weigine kujiushisha na usharati kukunywa pombe za bei lahisi weigine wali poteza mali zao siku za uchaguzi asa kuchomewa mali zao kubomolewa plot zao na kunyaganywa vitu za nyumba. Pia kuna wale wali poteza wazazi wao siku hiyo ya uchaguzi nigeomba kama hawa watu wanaweza kusaidiwa na serikali. Kama vijana wapewe kazi ama muradi ile wanaweza KUJISAIDIA NAZO.

Poverty

Poverty originated in Kenya when people took large portions of land in the past.

Many of these poor people are orphans so they have no one to depend on. This has led them to be street children and beg for food. When you take a walk in different neighborhoods, you see disabled people who can’t take care of themselves so they are forced to go to town to beg for money to buy food and pay rent. When you meet the youth in the streets, they will tell you the different problems they face like the death of their parents, drug abuse and their lack of job opportunities.

Poverty has led many girls to prostitution, due to the difficulties of their parents. Most of them joined prostitution and started drinking cheap alcohol. During the post election violence, many people lost their properties because of arson, demolition and robbery. Also, some people lost their parents that day. I would request that the Government assists those who lost their parents during this time. For instance, the government could give the youth job opportunities, education or training so the youth can benefit.

Land Grabbing in my Country

Maisha Yangu na Wenzangu

Maisha yangu na wenzangu ilikuwa ngumu sana, tulikuwa tukilala kwa mta

Siku moja tuliungana na kujadiliana jinsi vile tunaweza kujitafutia makao mazuri, tulienda kutafuta pesa kwa njia nyingi kama vile kuokota kasuku, mafupa na makaratasi.

Hapo mbeleni tulikuwa tukitumia madawa ya kulevya kama vile sigara, bangi na gam. Tulijadiliana tukaona hizo pesa tulizozipata tungaliweza kujisaidia. Tulianza kusaidiana na tuliweza kufanikiwa kukomboa nyumba zetu. Lakini hatukufurahia saa zile vijana wengine walikuja kuungana nasi,tuliwapeleka nyumbani kwao na kuwambia wazazi wao, watunze watoto wao.

Pia tulikuwa tukiokota chakula chafu na magonjwa yalikuwa rafiki yetu kwa sababu ya kulala nje katika makao mabaya, kula chakula kichafu, baridi na shida chungu zima. Maisha yetu ilibadilika kwa sababu ya kuungana pamoja na ndiposa tunasaidia wengine kutoka katika maisha hii kwa sababu hakuna mtu yeyote aliyezaliwa na mtaa.

My Life With My Friend

Life for my friend and I was very hard, we spent our nights on the streets.

One day, we decided we needed to look into better ways of survival so that we could improve our livelihood. We agreed to venture into activities such as collecting empty plastic cans, bottles and waste papers for sale.

Initially, we used to take drugs such as cigarettes, bhang (marijuana) and glue. We realized that the money we made could assist us in looking for a house and make life better. Unfortunately, other boys decided to invade our home and we opted to take them back home to their parents and advised them accordingly.

We ate food from garbage and hence we couldn’t escape diseases. They were part of us and were also brought about by sleeping out in the cold.

Our lives have since changed after coming together and we try to advise others not to venture into that life since nobody is destined to live on the streets.

Serikali Kutuhagaisha

Serikali kutuhangaisha ‘base’ hatuwezi kukaa na amani ata tukifanya mkutano wetu. Wanakuja kutukimbiza ovyo ovyo kwa sababu saa ile tunafanya kazi tunavaa nguo chafu, ili tusichafue nguo zetu safi.

Tukimaliza kazi kama tumepumzika tunashtukia serikali wametuzungukia. Tukiwaambi sisi ni vijana wa mtaa wanasema sisi ni wezi.

Siku moja tulikuwa tumekaa kwa mtaa karibu na kibanda moja, ilikuwa saa mbili usiku, tulipokuwa chakula cha jioni. Niliona gari kwa umbali, hatukuwa na shuguli, ilipofika karibu nasi tulisimama tukaamriwa kuingia ndani sisi sote. Tulipelekwa kituo cha polisi. Tulijaribu kuwaambia sisi si wahalifu lakini hawakusikia,tulipelekwa kwa mahakama na kushtakiwa kuwa sisi ni muungiki.

Tulipelekwa jela kwa muda wa miezi tano na tulivumilia hadi tukaachiliwa. Hutuelewi jinsi ya kutatua hii shida kwa sababu bado wanatusumbua tukiwa zaidi ya watu ishirini na tano ama watu kumi. Ningeomba kama tunaweza kusaidiwa ili serikali iwache kutuhangaisha.

Police Harassment

Police harassment at our base is so much that we cannot conduct peaceful gatherings. The police come chasing us for no reason. While we are working, we wear soiled clothes to avoid messing up our better clothes. This triggers police humiliation as they claim we are thieves despite constantly informing them that we are just street children.

For instance, one day as we relaxed near a shamble kiosk at around eight o’clock, we saw a vehicle driven towards where we were. We did not imagine they were our guests until the vehicle parked just next to us. To our surprise, we were given matching orders to all get into the vehicle. We found ourselves at the police station. To add insult to injury, we were charged with belonging to the outlawed ‘mungiki’ group.

We were remanded for five months then later released.

We are wondering how we are going to solve this problem as it is becoming rampant. If they find a group of around ten to twenty of us, we cannot escape their harassment.
